Emsy is a guitarist/bassist who has been working in the DFW metroplex for over ten years.
His formal music education started with the Music Learning Band program at Tyler Street Christian Academy, private lessons with guitarist Chuck Pangburn, and music composition as an undergrad at the University of North Texas.
As an educator, he has worked with Big Thought’s Thriving Minds program, La Rondalla, and the School of Rock. He instructed students from ages K-12 in group class settings and private lessons.
A gigging musician, Emsy has played with nearly 40 different bands in the Dallas area and shared the stage with national artists such as Macy Gray, The Toadies, Chaka Khan, and The Flaming Lips…to name a few. In addition to playing for bands, he also records commercial music, and landed a placement for ESPN last fall. He is delighted to bring this diverse musical and educational background to Lake Highlands School of Music!
